I know at least half of the track fomr my last EP thing were made almost enrily with this https://lerabot.bandcamp.com/track/shuck this one I can defenitly recall all the vocal parts being sequenced and arrenge on it. sequencer / keygate sampling. man. I think I also might be able to let go my 404sx if I ever get another one. TOO POOR.

yo! Would you guys even recommend it to a sampler addict who already has st-224, su-10, 202/303/404/555? I can already pitch, i can already resample Patterns... what can the Microsampler do what my others can't? Is there a "microsampler Sound" added to the samples or does it Sound clean? How about the 12Bit, does it actually Sound good? i hate the fact i'm a helpless sampler/gear addict

I would say that between my MPC, 404 and MS the MS sounds the "coldest" Pros... One thing I like about it, you can send a sound across the keys chromatically with a single button, then resample any performance lightning fast. The stereo delay FX to me are pretty outstanding as well, and you can get some super trippy results by messing with TAP tempo while delay is on. Getting a stereo image from a mono sample is quick and sounds great to me. The reverb and compression are kind of wack but most other FX are very nice, with lots of specific controls and you can assign any of them to the wheels for live performance. Sequencer is much better than my 404, because you can punch in and out, MPC-style. MIDI is very accurate time-wise and responsive. After a little practice I can move around the machine very fast. It helps also that each key has a specific function as command in edit mode, so I can just hit one key for jumping to start point or end point, changing FX, etc... Cons...... Low output volume, I mean really low. You can boost it from key to key, but it's annoying to have to do that all the time. Dials are wonky. You might want to make a slight adjustment, but as soon as you touch the dial, it will jump to some extreme automatically and you'll need to turn it back to where you want it. Not good for live performance if you need immediate control over that. Also makes resampling with FX a pain if you want to automate your performance. No physical storage, no CF card or nothin'.... Samples at unusual rates that may not compatible with other gear.... It sucks you can't just back up your samples without using the Microsampler-specific software. On the upside, samples of many different rates can be dragged into the keys via USB and the Microsampler will usually automatically convert them with no problem. No attack setting. You will get a lot of clicks. Interestingly there are settings for sustain, decay and release, but no attack. Stupidly, the Korg software sample editor includes attack, but not the actual machine. If I lost all my gear in a fire and I only could have one machine to do everything, I might choose the Microsampler. It does just about everything the 404 can do and more.

yo P00K! Looking again... It's not officially an attack setting, but just over the waveform at the edit menu there is "Fade in".. i zoom way in on the beginning of the sample, highlight a little slice and fade it in.. kills the click @scopebeats: congrats man!

I bought my MS in June and messed with it a little for a week and was very happy with my purchase. The last week I finally sat down and dug deep into it. I think this is my favorite sampler. The work flow is real nice with exception of the knobs being too slippery. I ordered new chroma caps though so that should smooth out navigation. Other than that my only real complaint is only being able to use one sample in keyboard mode for each pattern. Much slept on box, won't ever part with it.

These are going for $700+$100 in shipping from Japan if you order it on eBay. That’s pretty crazy if you ask me. Might want to check your local pawn shops or Reverb.com.
