that review is very informative...
Guess I've found what I need. GREAT! Now I can go down like this: Create a sample line with my turntables, record it through the 404 (MFX) to the loopstation. Once it's done the little soundbite syncs the loop from the loopstation with the drumpatterns from the 404. (Hopefully it matches the right bpm.. I mean tapping the tempo isn't the solution for me...)
While this whole thing loops I proberbly can record 4 other tracks to the soundbite, which can be muted and playes as I want. Thats how I'll try to make live-music...

Anyone knows Rico Loop? He is from Berlin.. and I tell you that man is maaaad crazy. Dont' get bored by the start!!!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=2McwVlKUYUA

Check his other vids, too. The Rc50 shit is dope too, cause of the multiple tracks!
It's no hiphop (is beatboxing hiphop? :D ) and it's no sample-shit but it's tight ass music at all! Love it! Thanx again @ phemox for that much work...

*edit
The last thing I'm not sure about is that: "Since it was designed to be connected to the headphone output of your DJ mixer, a loop can be sampled by simply assigning it to the cue mix (headphone output) of the mixer."
But I want to get the bpm of the loopstation... :?
Is it posible to split one mono output into two? know I mean... ?
One output for the sound and the other for the bpm detection?! Does it work?!

damn, volatile memory on all but the pro which is quite a bit more than the others.
from the XL manual:
Quote:
all recorded loops will be lost after disconnecting
the power supply.

Yeah I know... but I want to use it as a midi-clock primary... I think recording the loops to the 404 after the sessions would fill that gap.

have you seen the new line 6 looper

http://www.line6.com/jm4looper/

it's all right but it doesn't seem to bring anything new to the table.
however line 6 is real sturdy so you could probably beat your dog with it and still play live the same day (please don't beat your dog).

Cool... Might be a good alternative for poor people like me...

I also found this free software looper:

http://zonemobius.com/download.html

Seems to be a good one... supports midi and much more stuff.

just had to add. This is a great little software looper. For that easy looping. I like using ableton live for looping but for easy guitarlooping in a band without metronome and so on this is really a great little looper:)
