I have to say that my sennheiser hd280 pros are the nicest headphones i've ever used. I play my real drums wearing them while listening to tracks on ableton, they're good!

I've heard lots of good reviews for the 280s. I'ma have to get out the ski mask and see if can come up on a pair.

I've got Stanton DJ Pro-2000s, pretty good sound quality, but it does seem to color the sound a bit. Luckily switching the headphones to 'mono' solves a lot of the coloration.

(Or maybe my Edirol Monitors color the sound instead.)

sorry maybe i'm late, i didn't knew this obscure part of the forum :)

Quote:
also does any one know anything about that akai xr20? they call it a beat production center but it seems like a hip hop oriented drum machine to me.

i have one. just today i controlled my sp-303 for the first time. it works ok. you have Roll+Sensibility with the sp-303!! the xr20 got some good basses too and some decent synth. the drums the more are hiphop oriented but you can pitch very much and change them! and you can pitch also the "synth" part, good thing..
i foget to say that xr20 got also a mic in, you can enter with a mic...

peace
