Basically I just want to share some knowledge here.

I had the issue of the MC-505 LCD screen slowly dying on me, some of Roland's legacy products suffer from overheated screens that get damaged. Somewhere online I did find a spare part number, but it's outdated.

The new spare part number is: 17041750 LCD UNIT. It's about 50$ (excl. shipping), so it's a quite alright deal.

Just to let people know! Peace.

word up my screen bugged out before i learned how to use it fully.

sometimes it flickered alien codes and the filters would glitch like crazy.

i still have the old mc505 kicking around somewhere.

i should try and replace the screen and fix the broken knobs.

Haha, yeah, it's worth the bucks for me and they said it's already being posted, so I expect it to arrive tomorrow or the day after. Then it's fixing time. :P

I've bought my MC-505 second hand for mad cheap, lol, I should really feel guilty this time. So even if I would sell it after having it fixed and all, I'd inevitably make a profit.

Anyways, downside was the broken screen, but apparently it's a common thing to happen and 'easy' to fix. Can't wait to see what's actually going on on the screen.

(Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised by how I was able to use it regardless of the broken screen. Seems those rumors about how the MC-505 is extremely complex are wrong.)

there is a few things that can be tricky at first.

but making your own patches is the best thing about it i think.

i never figured out megamix yet. but everything else is pretty stright forward.
