Anyone used one of these? Seem to go pretty cheap, on paper it looks to be similar to the sp-303. Coming from using the 404 would this thing be ok?

don't know much about the sampletraks (tho i think some dudes on here have one / have used one), but i DO have the zoom drum machine that came out around the same time (i fink its the RT223) and while i don't use it much anymore, it was totally reliable, sounded pretty good and pretty easy to figger out. it is limited, however. but: battery powered.

i find most zoom stuff gets a bad rap, but i can't really complain about the RT.

hope that helps a bit mans.

Pick one up if you can find it cheap!!
Like Fauna said,Zoom products are really slept on...It doesn't have a lot of sampling time(30 seconds stereo/61 seconds mono @ 32k) but you have double that time @ 16k and again double that @ 8k.
It can also pitch samples up and down and you can resample a sequence,so you could sample everything mono, then resample in stereo and you have 2 voices and add more notes if you want.
Anyways,Dj Frantic will tell you more about this gem of a machine:)

Thanks guys. I'm looking at this and a Emu ESI32 rack sampler. Looks like whichever goes for less money is the one I'll get. I've been trying to pick up another SP but th cash just aint there, they must be at atm. I gotta get another sampler though, after getting used to hardware I can't bear using software anymore. I got a PSP so I'm thinkin i'll hack it and use PSPRhythm until I can get a real sampler. The 224 sounds pretty cool, where you a t Frantic?

That's so annoying when that happens, isn't it? Hopefully you'll be able to find another one, or else get that other sampler you wanted.

if u find one under $100 pick it up fo sho ! its the perfect partner for an SP. It lets u pitch your samples and even has a scale function that will transpose all your samples into a major scale over the 8 pads. and its got a better time stretch than the SP and a dope filter.

Indeed, unfortunately I missed out on both of em. Oh well, no big deal. I'll keep looking, no hurry here. Thanks for the insight on the 224 Frantic.
