I started getting my beats on my computer so I could a) put them on myspace, cds, etc. but also so I could b) free up space on my SP.

I use Kristal, and use one track for drums, one for bass line, etc. This is done really easily, just by using the isolator effect to mute anything not being recorded for that track. If you track out your pattern all at once, you can't change levels or effects of individual sounds. Also, by being able to separate the individual sounds, you can put them back into the SP if need be. By doing all this, you free up space off of your SP, but the beat isn't set in stone.

Just something to consider, I guess.
