I would suggest buying a new power supply.

take it into an electronics store..

the trick with power supplies is to look at the 'output' specification

(make sure the input is just a standard wall plug voltage for your country (or will take any range of voltages - usually 110-240), not some other weird thing.. which isn't likely, but just in case):

1 - voltage (V) should be the same AMOUNT (9 I'm guessing?)

2 - voltage should also be the same TYPE (DC)

3 - current (A or mA (1A = 1000mA)) you want either the same or if you can't get the same get MORE than the one that came with the SP.

Current is like a water well.. the device takes out only what it needs, but if it cant get enough it wont work properly.

the one you get at the electronics store will have interchangeable heads so there's one last thing you need to check:

the polarity of the plug. plugs are made of a 'tip' and a 'ring'

On the power supply there will a picture like this

+ )----Co-----( - (the o is inside the C)

the C is the 'ring'
the o is the 'tip' and the polarity of each one is specified by the line that goes out to the +/-. so in this case the diagram is tip negative.

PS can somebody please sticky the whole power supply replacement thing somewhere?
