You can get a converter, from a battery to the box. BUT if you have the polarity switched --IT WILL FRY THE BOX-- Electronics education is a must!
I asked an electrician who works for Boeing and a friend of the family about this and he told me that. I decided to save my 303 and bought a 404.

There used to be a video on youtube showing how to make a 303 battery powered so it's possible somehow.

I don't think it's there anymore. You probably just have to find a battery supply with the same power specs as the sp-303 and then splice the cables. Modify at your own risk though.

Well, it's not rocket science but you have to understand that if you use the wrong voltage you can fry the circuit board in the 303. Imagine plugging a 303 from america into a european outlet without a converter....boom. You get the idea. It'll say the power information on the power supply it came with or in the manual and then splicing wires is as basic as it gets when it comes to electrical. If you have a friend that builds electronics/computers or likes to circuit bend things ask them for help.

It seems lithium ion batteries are a good option but all the ones I found online had a much lower output then specified for the 303 both american and european voltages. I don't know if the lower output would fail to power it or damage the unit but they seem to be the least bulky option and I believe the video you posted has the guy using a li-ion battery. I'd send him a message and pick his brain a little about how to adapt it to a 303.

That would be great a battery attached to a SP-303!!

so now i go to the park with my ipod and skateboard, i love the summer!

9v reachargeable battery (but a normal 9v should works) + battery connector (electronic shops: only 0.50€) + a piece of a broken acdc connector cable (the extremity) to put into the power in of the sp303.
very important: i didnt solder anything...it's only made by hands....everyone can do it....

peace
