Sadly, my 303 looks to be on its way out. It seems to have some brain damage, and the three parameter knobs don't track smoothly.

Sigh.

I'm too poor to get a new one ATM, but when I have some money should I get another 303 or should I think about another SP? I love the 303--the sound, the functionality, etc--but I'm interested in maybe checking out the 404 or the 606 or the 555.

Anyone ever have a piece of gear you've loved that just up and died on you? Or gotten stolen, or suffered some other unfortunate fate?

Haha, yeah, my 4000 broke and I got a 303! Couldn't believe how fast, easy, and fun it was. I went sp crazy and ended up trying 202, 505, and sx, but the 303 is my favorite. I'm on my second one, too bad they're not very reliable.

The ep with chopperman came out amazing, by the way.

:( sorry for your loss. my 303 is doing weird stuff now and then but is still usable. i like the sound too but i use my 404(OG) more often because it's faster. can't decide which one is better. i think all sp's are beasts from what i heard and read.
my old lexicon lxp-1 died on me and they are known for doing that. i really loved the hall but was afraid to buy another one (used). then after 2 years i got one again but when i connected it with the remote controller that i still had from before the remote display was dead. now i use it with a little lamp over it to see the numbers. so maybe you should get a 303 again :)

Thanks for all the stories and condolences, fam.

RIP in peace, 303. RIP in peace.

Well actually I can probably squeeze a couple more jams out this bitch. We'll see.
