Just make sure you use a PS with enough power. The one that goes with SP 555 is 9V 2A. So you look for one that is capable close to 2A (amps).
SP 555's book say that current draw is 800mA (0.8A) so it should be fine with 9V 1000mA PS but for how long.

You deleted factory samples but not factory preset-patterns. Those patterns are now triggering your samples that are on the same pads that were the ones that were used on preset patterns.
I'd suggest few more hours spent on reading the manual. No hard feelings yo.

As much as I found out you must empty some cf banks so external sequencer wont trigger sounds stored on pads. Check in the manual which bank runs on MIDI CH10... My Roland JX-8P doesn't have original power cord so I soldered on a cable from old TV set and insulate with some tape... it's been like that for years.
Power cord for Roland MC 909 is the same... that can be ordered probably without problem.

You can switch between monitors.

Lets say your atmospheric pad is playing on pad 16...
Just before your sound comes to the end retrigg it with SUB PAD
