Re: NEW SP-404 SX

The inclusion of real time overdubbing would be the only reason I would upgrade.
Roland, it isn't that hard.
Do it.

Re: I got my EPICness back

I have to say I really like some of the material you're producing Hurl.

Were the synth lines and effects done with vsts on this? The slight detuning adds some uncertainty to the melody which is nice.

Mixmaster Morris Mix

Thought I'd spread the word.

Mixmaster Morris who is one of my favourite producers has a mix as a free download, it's a tie-in with the 'Altermodern' exhibition at the Tate modern. Like all of Morris' work this mix is absolute quality, I high recommend it. Although not really SP related there are ...

Long button?

So not being a 303 owner I am curious about the 'long' button. What does it do?

Re: Dr. Robutnik - For Those Who Left The Ground (Entirely 404)

The sparseness of this is great, the acoustic sounding drones and filtered drums hits propel the piece along nicely.

Track two is absolutely grating and feels inconsistent with what I have heard thus far.

Some of the distortion is a bit of the top but if you were going for contrast between the ...

Really nice, this is a set that deserves repeated listens.

Any chance you'll be posting that as audio anywhere?

Re: Setting the BPM of a resampled recording?

Ok, thanks Andrew, that answers my question.

Frustrating that the BPM cannot be set prior to resampling, surely this feature would not be difficult to implement as it is available prior to standard recording.

Re: Setting the BPM of a resampled recording?

Thanks for the replies, however, this does not answer what I am attempting to do. I understand how to set the BPM prior to recording but I am wishes to set the BPM for resampled recordings. So let's say I wish to resample a keyboard riff which has a recorded bpm of 100. When I resample with an ...

Re: Hip Hop+Musique Concrete

This is great.

Its wonderful how you've faded parts in and out, used reverse and foregrounded the melody and sound elements to be equal with the drums.

Great stuff, keep it up and let me know if you're going to release a mix.

Re: Keyboard...

There are lots of old synths that sound great and can be picked up relatively cheaply (if of course you are after a synth and not a rhodes or wurlitzer).

Anything subtractive and analogue (or DX7 from Yamaha if you are after digital) from Korg or Roland that was released during the 80's, while ...

Setting the BPM of a resampled recording?

Hello People,

Does anyone here know whether the BPM can be set for a recording prior to resampling?

To clarify, I wish to sample multiple hits as a loop and sync that with another recording on another pad with a bpm of 105. Is this possible with the 404?

Cheers

Microphones

So, I've gotten my 404, thanks for all the information from this forum.

I have a question regarding microphones. At the moment I don't have access to a mixer and I would like to record some rather 'quiet' acoustical instruments and perhaps vocals.

Does anyone have tips in relation to ...
