the DI box was something i was thinking about too - i'll see what else i can do first though. maybe even changing the sp404's operating level might help by improving the signal to noise ratio?

i've had the 404 for a while now. now i'm getting much deeper into using it (instead of just mucking around learning things), i'm a little bit concerned about the sort of hum i'm getting.
it's pretty obvious on headphones ... tried it on different power points in the house, at different houses ...
