When connected via USB, the SP makes a MIDI connection to your pc. In a soft sequencer, you can sequence the sounds of the sp's pads on the pc and when you're ready to go live, you can sample the tracks to the sp. The SP is one of the best samplers for long sample phrases, so it works pretty well ...

if the onboard sequencer is too limiting, you can always use a soft sequencer (Sonar, Cubase, etc) to add as many tracks as you can.

And how do you get it ...

Hm, I know what you mean. I was looking at the Roland MC-808 with a 16 track sequencer till I realised it's not really meant for heavy sampling. It'd be nice to have something blending the best of both.

It helps a lot, thank you!

I can't wait to get one! Been reading manuals and reviews of all kinds of samplers on the net, I think this one sounds like the right one for me.

Do you sequence short drum sounds or longer samples?

I was wondering about the 4 tracks - Can you only record one sound at a time on each track? Meaning, if you want a bass drum and a hi hat to sound at the same time, you'd have to put them on separate tracks?

OK, let me rephrase:

Does anyone on this forum use the sequencer in 606 extensively?

Thanks,

João

Thinking of buying an SP-606

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of buying the SP-606 and I was hoping some of you might tell me something about how well it works or not. I've read some user reviews and they're not great, though I know people sometimes just get angry at equipment and use the internet to vent...

The main thing that ...
