I did some research on the mic-in thing and now I'm back with bleeding ears
You can plug the 404 to the mic-in no doubt and the sound was crystal clear.
But when you press the "ext source" button on the SP the sound starts to circulate through the mixer and 404 creating a horribly loud beeping ...

Wow thanks for this idea framori! I have this 2 channel battle mixer and I've never thought about using the mic-in to connect my 404!!

Will it be possible to play samples/patterns/beats while using the effects on an external sound source ?

If so, won't the samples be affected by the effects?

Thanks for writing this down to everyone. I've been also dreaming about a nice SP-404 copy/edit/organizer -tool on a computer. 15 years ago on my golden computing-days it could have been possible. This could be my change to re-learn but let's go the easy way and ask Olby nicely!

You could buy a cheap external metronome thing. Or if you have a computer around, use some program as a metronome (WinBPM, Fruityloops, whatever)

Yep, I'm learning the build-in sequencer too. It's just me making too much mistakes! What makes software sequencing harder then? I've used some programs like Protracker on the Amiga earlier.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. Hope I can post some beats/turntable tracks later (this year)

Hi! I recently got my first sampler - the 404. I'm a bit clumsy on the sequencer and I wonder if someone could tell me which PC software would be ideal for MIDI-sequencing this thing? I'm a total noob with midi... Or are there any cheap/good hardware solutions?
