Re: Diggin' spots in Berlin

Thanks for that wax!... Yeah I'll be going with a friend of mine who is an expert digger and as luck will have it he's gone and done some research beforehand. I'm so looking forward to the flea markets on Sunday, hopefully pick up a few juicy bits.. If I do I'll post 'em up.
Besos..

Re: Akai s-900 - worth it?

I own an Akai S950 and it was the first sampler that I bought.. It's a beast of a machine! I've been transfering old samples made in the S950 into my SP-404sx and they sound super fat. The great thing about these machines is that you can layer sounds really easy, filter stuff and change the pitch ...

Re: Live use of the sp-404

Well I tried it out and the sp sounded so fat and lovely compared to a laptop that someone was djing with.. plus I absolutely killed it by droppin' some super heavy funk and twisting the tunes up with the built in effects.. Delicious!

Live use of the sp-404

Hi people.. Any body rocking their SP live by hooking it up to a big f*ck off P.A system? The reason I'm asking is because a friend of mine would like me to DJ at his birthday. I've loaded my S.P with an 8 gig card and filled the card with some nasty funk grooves.. 120 in total! I recorded all the ...

Re: Carboot finds!

Thanks Dusty.. Yeah my diggin' spot is HOT!! There's some dude there most weeks who has some killer bits he don't care about getting rid of.. Tons of breaks, grooves, jazz, funky rock, soundtracks etc,etc.. just good ole 70's stuff.. The best find of the batch was the 'Washrag' l.p, 'Bang'.. Steve ...

Carboot finds!

Found these last weekend at my local carboot sale.. Don't know what I enjoy more, diggin' for them or listening to them or sampling them!
A couple I already have.. but nothing wrong with doubles. Would love to tell where my carboot spot is.. (London,UK) but you know how it is! £15 well spent..

Re: Got this one

I seem to remember that record having a couple of ok sounds on it that you could probably mangle and twist up.. Sorry to say, but it's a pretty lame ass album though! Good luck with saving up for your 404.. once you get it you'll find that you can pretty much sample anything, add some effects ...

Re: part you hate most about beat making?

I hate it when you can't seem to get 'in the zone' when making beats... 2 many distractions such as an idiot of a flat mate constantly buggin' you, spending 2 much time at work, having to do every day boring shi*t such as cooking, cleaning, washing and not enough time well spent making beats and not ...

Re: Record sale in a garage

Thanks Jeff.. Can't say I've come across that one before, looks cool!.. 'Black Mosses' is badass, there you will find the classic Portishead / Tricky sample, plus 'Good Love 6969' is heavy stuff.. I recently got back from Buenos Aries where I picked up some nice bits.. Soundtracks, Brazilian funk, a ...

Re: Picked All These Up For $8.00

Yeah I hear you there, but to be honest I wouldn't exactly call that guy's finds 'awesome'.. (by saying that makes me think that maybe you don't really know a lot about diggin' or quality music?).. Not that I'm out to diss anyone in particular, (or your good self) but we live in a world of such ...

Re: Picked All These Up For $8.00

Hey Dman, first of all.. please forgive me for calling you a clueless cretin! As I'm sure you'll agree with me that digging is a great way of getting to know certain music styles that you may otherwise never think of touching. You should always check something out before completely dissing it, let ...
