since 2 month i am a pround owner of a mpc xl...since that time i am negelcting my sp555. but yesterday evening it got an idea to combine both machines via midi, in oder to trigger sounds of to put an effect on an mpc sound....

anyone any experience?????

the best way to get some sounds on your card, is just sampling

jeah, the pitch /time-strech thing is what is bad about the sp555, i used to pick samples with the right speed on vinyl OR i used audacity a freeware prog for recording that can pitch as well....

jeah, while in sampling mode you cannot hear the click, which i think is a huge problem for me also, if i want to record some cuts....

to my konwledge you CANNOT transfer samples from pc via usb cable to the sp555. and you can use the sp555 as midi device a) usb/pc and b) midi cable with other devices such as synthie or anything elese which has midi in.

i am not quite sure how this muting thing is working with the mpc, got mine just a couple of days ago. but for the sp555 you can erase parts from pattern that you have done.

yes, this octave/ pitch thing at the sp555 is note useful, it sounds awful. i use audacity for pitching at the pc, and than sample it back to the roland
