I just got an sp like less than a week ago but i've been fingerdrumming forever and what i utilize most are the delay and djfx looper in making drum loops.
i'll just play a hihat first with just a 1 2 3 4 to some random tempo, then when i would get on the 1 again i hit rec to stop the resampling ...
