Has anyone tried making beats on Audacity other than using it for chopping samples? anywho, Please drop some advise on what is more important when mixing sample based hip-hop? How to make drums and everything sound better based on your experience on the DAW you are currenty using...

I have an SP- 808 that I'd like to restore at some point but wouldn't have a clue where to begin.

When it's powered up it just displays weird squiggly shit on the screen and everything on the sampler which has a back light, lights up on the machine.
