Sorry outoffit, but he kind of has a point....if it was working just fine the way you had it, keep doing it that way, it won't cause any issues (as in it won't break anything).

I use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 as an audio interface and I have the in's and out's from my SP-404A plugged into it.

When I use it in FL Studio first I choose the audio device as Focusrite USB so I can listen while having my headphones plugged in the audio interface.

Yeah, what I understand is that the A is just a SX after a plastic surgery... I've heard of different types of cards working on the SX which are not on this list now so maybe I'll just try out a random new one and hope it works.

The vinyl sim is great, yeah, definitely has more to it than just the crackle... I think it adds great sound to snares for example etc. Have to try it out more next time I'll make beats.

So, this guy in Reddit told me to add "external audio effect" in Ableton so I could use the 2i4 interface with the SP.

He told me it should be where all the compressors etc. are but I don't have it and I didn't get any sound coming out of Ableton or to it.

So I forgot that and switched to FL ...

I don't know if I explained it wrong but when I sample or resample in the SP the sound is fine, loud enough without distortion. I try to aim for the red light blinking occasionally, it's a useful indicator.

when I tried different volumes and samples sometimes things got too loud and the sound becomes fucked up, but you can hear it instantly and then it's just time to mess with input/output gains either on the SP or from the DAW or the audio interface...

Oh, I think I got it. It was just in the "protected state" and just had to get out of that. The battery cover is still extra hard to open though.

+ didn't get it working on ableton. Apparently Live Lite doesn't have the "external audio effect" or I just don't have it for some reason?

Yeah, thanks, I think I've figured it out and I assume it's all safe to plug the ins and outs at the same time (so I can use them at the same time inside DAW) with the Focusrite 2i4 and have no feedback loops etc.

Can't change Sample Mode on my brand new SP-404A and I can't trigger the buttons in a row all the time, so if I try to trigger drums for example it doesn't let me do that in a row. What's up with that?

Also, is the battery slots cover supposed to be extremely tight and hard to open? I was supposed ...

So as the title says, I got a SP-404A (I know it's not the OG or SX but it's pretty close to a SX), a Focusrite 2i4 as an audio interface and right now I'm looking to hook it all up to use this thing in either Ableton or FL.

What do I gotta do? I have a Dual RCA to RCA cable and one Dual 1/4 to RCA ...
