Re: SPBB #259

Before uploading my thing I guess, would the sounds of a clock count as external instrument sounds? Like recording an alarm clock or something.

Re: I'm very confused

Well, I'm experiencing somewhat that problem with the RCA cables that you just mentioned(which I wasn't experiencing really before) but also inputing into the computer is a problem and the samples directly from the sd card sound really REALLY quiet for some reason and it's when ever I try to eq them ...

I'm very confused

So, this wasn't happening before, but i have a focusrite Scarlett2i2 that I'm currently trying to use for my new SP-404sx, but whenever I record anything in there now for some reason it's either really muffled or it just clips really bad. Do any of you have any ideas as to why?

Re: Resample Method or Pattern Sequencer (member poll)

I voted both because some effects are dynamic and therefore need a resampled pattern(like compression and pitching) but most of the time I use pattern sequencer. I hated it at first but a tip I learned was to actually quantize it on the first beat and then everything else can pretty much be ...

Re: I cant deal with it anymore lmfao

Do you have to Asio4ALL installed? If you do, that could actually be the thing that's causing the distortion.

finger-drumming

I know this isn't entirely exclusive to SP-404/SP-404SX but any tips on fingerdrumming with 12 pads?

About other stuff to use with the 404

So I just recently got my new SP-404SX and I'm really really digging the sound coming from all DAW. The thing is is that I'm debating whether I'd want another sampler to go with it. For right now I wanna know whether I should get an MPC Renaissance, SP-555 or an MPC 1000 or just stick with the 404.

Re: Engineering Sounds

I'm personally not a fan of the time stretch on the 404sx, I've used it a few times on drum loops I've made in resample mode (it works well with minor time changes on drums), but I haven't really used it as an effect...... I bet you could make some interesting sounds with it....it makes the sound ...

Re: Engineering Sounds

Wait, can't you just pitch something and then turn time stretch off so it doesn't sound like trash? I saw that the sp-202 did the same thing on the sp-202 manual, but idk.

Re: Engineering Sounds

Can time stretching be applied to drum samples to interesting effect too? I used to use multiply a lot in fl studio to fatten up drums just a little bit more but to where it isn't noticably stretching in the mix, mostly for high-hats. Can that sound good on the sp? Plus the pitch effects can ...
