A little opposite, but below is a track I made for an Op-1 beat battle a while back, I picked a cassette randomly & sampled 12 seconds of the first song into Op-1 (12 second sample limit), then sampled a drum break off vinyl, chopped it all up in the op-1 drum sampler & recorded onto op-1 tape ...

yep you can easily adjust start & end points on the 404. & the 303.

you can also leave air at the end of the sample when sampling into the 404..... & the 303.... so the samples wont be short.

if your transferring samples (not actually sampling into your sampler) & it's a short sample, just ...

If on one shot it plays the sample all the way thru. If on gate it only plays while holding the pad down.

Which one are you having issues with?

If it's happening on one shots, the chop point needs to be fixed. Depends on the quality of the sample if there will be a click where it's chopped, but ...

I started on hardware & only used hardware for 2 years.... I recently introduced software into my set up & can see why it would be hard to go from software to hardware. Ableton does almost everything imaginable & does it fast.

Maybe experiment with ways to use your hardware & software together ...

Yea I went crazy with the pitch effects on the K.O. & you're exactly right about the ...

For the longest time I didn't know about the effects limiter & it really changes the way the compressor works as well as the other effects.

A lot of people love the compressor/vinyl sim on the og 404 & 303..... a straight up trade for the og 404 doesn't sound like a bad idea.

since you have an MPC 1000 already, plus a 404sx & 555, why not sell the 404sx (since you like the 555 better) & instead of buying another sp, buy something you don't have that can improve your set up. If you like using synths, maybe buy another synth? Maybe a bass guitar? Especially if you like ...

I use a 2500 with a 404sx , turntable & multiple pieces of hardware, but use a mixer, which helps with routing so I don't have to unplug anything.

I'm sure the bpm function is useful, I've looked into it a few times, but never ended up using it (I've been on the sx for 3 or so years).
