The Akai MPX16.

Re: Post here when you get new gear
I've ordered a Numark pt01 scratch, it should be here tomorrow.
Gonna get the tone arm mod, so I can fit a decent cartridge.
It's arrived. Carpal tunnel syndrome is expected by the weekend.

Thanks, man. I'm toying with the idea of copping myself an SP808 or 606.
Maybe get rid of the 505. Anyone up for trades?

No, but I'd like to. I watched a YouTube review of one and couldn't believe my ears. It doesn't seem possible for that little thing, to produce that tone.
GAS, for a ubass

Re: Resample with BPM
It lacks TR-recording, but I can use my TR-8 in midi for this, although I haven't found in the midi settings how to play a bank other than bank 1 from an external midi device.
MIDI is a bitch, on the 505. I messed around for ages, trying to get my MPD to trigger anything other than pad bank 1 ...

I've been eyeing up one of those cheap Dean fretless acoustic basses, get great reviews and at $170 ish is crazy.
I'd never be without mine. I picked it up for £50, on eBay. Put some tape wound strings on it, and you've got a poor mans upright.

Re: Studio Pics
The MPD26 is normally hooked up to the MS1, for SP12 crunch, MPC pads and mute group. Everything goes through the SP505 first, for editing.

Re: Old SP head returns
That's kinda how I use the SP505 (like it's a multi track). MS-1 is used to chop/play drums.

Old SP head returns
What up SP forums?
Used to be on here about 4-5 years ago (Strayfield).
Been trying to get a blues rock/Hip Hop kinda thing going (think Black Keys-Boom Bap).
Love the forum's good vibes and no attitudes.
It's good to be back.
