IMO the best way to start is the MPC because it works as a standalone which is good if you don't want to deal with a DAW, you can chop & program your sequence on the fly & train your drumskills with the cool pads. Also the MPC 2000XL sounds dirty & cold because of its 12Bits sampling capability

I agree moving pitch on D beam can be really satisfying when skrewing a beat or something
You can try to plug a D beam controller to another sampler that has effects in it. It's pretty rare and expensive tho, there's someone selling it here: https://reverb.com/item/2275714-interac ... -rare-1997

No i haven't ... yet , thanks for answering, i use my DAW to control it now, it makes things way easier because it's inner sequencer is a real pain.
Also i just bounce my loops on it & then resample with effects on if needed.

Well you can install the windows version of WAVconverter using Parallels , i Hope it'll solve your problem
