Same situation for me. Have you tried running your ipod through a mixer to boost the signal?

Sp404sx sound issue
Hey so recently I have noticed something wrong with my 404sx. The volume outputs much louder on the right ear then the left. Even if I record stuff in mono it still outputs the sound this way. Is there a way to fix this? It's pretty noticeable, and I would hate to have it stuck like this.
