its incredibly easy to open it up yourself to replace em, the 404 is made for repairing and you only need a cross screwdriver to open it up to get to the pads

That sounds a bit like when I want to get just one side of the audio, but I want it in the center instead of on the side, so I unplug the side I dont want and I set the sampling to mono to bring it to the front of the mix

Yeah ive been seeing not only custom sp's but a whole bunch of skins for them being sold on ebay, also the price for the 303 is getting distressingly high for my liking, should have nabbed one sooner.

Which focusrite model do you use to record to your computer?
if its a scarlet solo then yeah that makes sense it records in mono, you only have one channel to work with on that thing, the other channel can really be only used for mics.
if thats the problem, try replacing it with a Behringer U ...

got in a weird funk where i didnt make any beats at all for a few days, then i finally had a few days off of work in a row and i managed to make all these tracks in about a week. felt good after a while and i realized i had a beat tape on my hands.
