Re: New standalone MPC(s)
gotta say i was hyped at first because it looks so slick but then i had some questions..
will the touch-screen actually be fun/efficiënt to work with? i'm more of a knob-dude than a swipe-dude so i dunno..
what will it cost?

Re: New Elektron sampler
this looks really promising imo.. if it allows batteries or if it carries a li-ion pack or something that would make a plus for me.. but heck 650 flippers is already expensive for me :d

Re: Making good drum kits from scratch

And yeah, pitching sounds makes sense, for sure. I think I get overwhelmed with laying out drums in general. I have a good ol time chopping up a sample and making a sequence, but when it comes to drums, I feel like I can't find the right drums to do the sample justice, if that makes sense ...

Re: Trouble finding bass samples.
sounds like you need to learn the low end theory....
that's where you'll get that warmth.....
failing that just find a VST with a bass synth....filter it down low, tune it and play it...
+1 on the low end theory
and indeed, otherwise you can try the bass notes of a rhodes VST maybe or a simple ...

Re: Using SP404 vs 404sx as outboard gear
hi, i don't know if you already bought the OG, but i'll give you this.
if the main use of your 404 is going to be EFX and COMP, take note that it has a little delay on the sound when you switch between effects in realtime(while playing). It is rather small, the delay, but it is definitely noticeable ...

Re: Loading an OG 404 backup into an SX
hey man
i don't think there is a way to 'update' the backup files. my best bet is that you export your og's pads as wav to your cf card, and import them on your 404sx

Re: Putting stickers on back / customization of Sp404?
i'm not really sure what you are asking but you can take off the upper plate by unscrewing the 4 inbus-screws. if you flip that plate over you can cut off the excess 'sticker' from off the pads. hope that helps

Re: Making good drum kits from scratch
hi dude,
i always follow one of these two methods:
chop a break: if you listen closely and chop a break 'small' enough, you have each hit seperate, thus leaving you with a drumkit that most of the time sounds good together, because it was recorded together.
pitch some hits: if you just select ...
