right now im just using a vst emulation of the ms2000 (unfortunately i dont have enough funds to buy the real thing ) but I use that along with my 404sx, I wouldve bounced to vhs but my vcr ate the damn tape -_-

What sort of other gear/toys do you have? If you have anything that can sequence other gear then that is your ticket, mijo!

If you are just looking at filter modulation then you could even sample your notes/chords into the SP/whatever and pass the sampled audio back through your synth's input if ...

whats ups guys i was just wondering is there an easier way to do synth modulation while recording a beat? I find it pretty hard to modulate a synth and play the chord at the same time, is there an easier way or should i just keep practicing doing what i am already?
