i decided to open it up before sending it back to see if there was anything obvious
e
immediately there was. the drive wasnt connected to the main board. plugged it in and its all working. the bloke had actually given me a refund and for me to send the machine back but i just told him the good news ...

Folks,
Just bought an SP808 and the chap insisted it all worked fine. I realise these are old machines so not sure if im pissing in the wind
When it boots it goes to the home screen but then theres no functionality in the machine whatsoever. The buttons have zero effect
It has had an OS update ...

Was drawn to it and cant wait to get started
Couple of things:
Can i also use it via MIDI utilising the 16 pads to control 16 pads in a DAW or program such as Geist if i wanted to?
Dont think its had the software update. Should i look to do it? What extras does it bring?
