aw man I swear I tried every combination of jumper settings, but I'll have to look closer- do you have any pics of the jumper you used?

I got the same drive and got it to save / load multi-disk songs by connecting the original floppy drive and the emulator at the same time using an old cable that could connect two floppy drives at once.
