I haven't used fl studio since about version 7 or 8 (I think) so I can't help you with that . . . But I use ableton all the time and I can't recommend it enough. In my opinion it easily beats all the other DAWs I've ever used.

Glad I read that post formal. I went to the Music library at my college (UW) and asked about records. Turns out nobody has checked out vinyl for years, so they moved the collection to an off-campus location. They agreed to give me access to the collection (15,000+ records!!!) in exchange for ...

Lovely stuff, didn't have time to listen to all of it cause I just got in from work but I love the fact that the tracks I did listened to all had a real sense of progression and movement which I think is quite rare in beat music (I must admit that that I struggle with this myself.)
