Some SP-505 resample beats and thoughts

Been having some fun with the 505....not finding the sequencer so hot, but using the resample method has butter.

the 16mb card seems to have made getting around the menus faster (truncating,sampling/resampling, bpm editing), when compared to the 128mb card i got it with (Yuck!)

Kind of miss ...

Re: dakim vid / setup question

I found a nice little way to build up beats on the sp404sx using this.

first i'll build up a beat using the delay/
with each segment i want to save for later i'll use the record function (not resample) and record the delay loop. It's now on a pad.

i can then either turn off the delay and play for ...

Re: my sp404sx/loop pedal schematics

So what i'm thinking now is a mini KP2, SP404, a couple 2in/1out converters and 2 switches.

I'll have it setup like shown in the diagram. What i'm hoping it'll do is have a constant connection from either machine to the output amp. The 2 switches would control how the 2 samplers interact with each ...

Re: my sp404sx/loop pedal schematics

So heres my 2nd take.

I'm thinking what i might do is take some old wooden cigar box, drill some holes an wire something up my self with some rc sockets, wires and switches.

make the thing work as 2 separate switches and you'd just keep the sp's (EXT SOURCE) button set to off if you need to keep ...

Re: my sp404sx/loop pedal schematics

nicque you got it right!

as far as functionality goes it's just a matter of emulating the sp 555 live loop capture (i've just found out how it works on that thing)

was picturing things like these being used to mitigate all of the wires being yanked and flipped about.

but how that would ...

Re: my sp404sx/loop pedal schematics

i just realized that their isn't any audio output in their LOL! maybe rigging up a couple rca 2 in's, 1 out's with switches and hooking them up to the amp respectively and my fucking brain can't take this right now! hahaha!

Re: New Single

Nice man! really dig the voice, the deliveries nice to! My only gripe is that the lyrics are a little on that 90's lyrical, miracle, imperial, spherical, cereal thing.

it makes me want to hear you tell stories or layout a real solid concept.

sounds good though.

Re: Quincy Banks | Cardboard Beats Vol. 1 (Demo)

heya, what equipment did you use for your band camp beats? if you don't mind me asking.

Sounding good. I think all i would do is suggest finding more ways to challenge yourself. I'm under the impression that theirs a lot more looping than chopping going on here (or just chops that don't ...

A couple resampled beats

hey folks! so i've been having a good time with resampling ever since i broke down and decided to have stock drumkits and bass sounds (an octave +4) devoted to my last 2 banks.

Mainly just working on getting my bass lines mixed into the beat although i'm not to mad at the results so far. Figure ...

my sp404sx/loop pedal schematics

hey folks! have just been thinking about getting a cheap small loop pedal to finish my portable beat making setup. Though I need some sort of rc converter that will let me.

Looping on to the pedal (Output from Loop pedal is turned off via converter)
Sp---->Converter------>Loop pedal

Recording ...

having multiple kit sounds on 1 pad for easy access

hey folks! just started doing this myself and curious who else does. I'd imagine so as it puts all of those un edited sound kits (instead of a folder of snares, i'd get 1 track with all of them like wtf!? I started with fl studio ) i used to find on the net in context.

What i did was got a bunch of ...

Re: Bad SP habits

I keep forgetting to turn off 'stereo' when recording pads so I'll end up with a whole bank of samples ready but when i go to resample i get mad.

Re: What's good

thanks rak!

yeah my brains been hurting, when thinking of bass lines on this thing. I just recently recorded some boobass out of flstudio and got 16 pads devoted to bass notes.

Thinking what i'd do is just cue a bar or 2 when resampling so i've got time to have the ungated beat go on it's own and ...
