well the purpose is so that i can have each sound by its self when tracking out to the computer.
ok, now is clearer.
due to the fact that the 224 doesn't have separate outs, personally i use to do that "ghetto style": i sample or resample things in mono and then i extremely pan all samples in ...

what i am trying to do is have a snare on on song 1 and a snare kick on song 2 and so forth. is this possible?
well, if you record a snare on pattern 1 and a snare/kick on pattern 2, certainly this is possible, but, still, i don't understand well what is the point on this...the two patterns ...

No. it's possible to record on the song (pattern) you're playing. You can also sampling while a pattern is playing.
