I got my first Portastudio in '95, but i'd been writing things for a few years before that. I come from a guitar background and was making terrible Industrial type music with my guitar, a drum machine and a friend that screamed into a mic alot. Ah, good times.

yeah, i love Renoise as well. The genius of trackers is it allows you to do just about everything without a stupid mouse. It does take awhile to get a grip on as its a different way of working than the standard timeline DAWs, but once you do, it's fairly effortless.
