I borrowed a 1Gb card from a friend to try it out - same problem. However, both cards work alright in his 404.
Tried formatting my card also, but the 404 still won't start up (frozen on "404") to the point where it formats the card.
I think it may be a problem with the actual ...

404 CF card problem - Unable to switch on with card inserted
Hi!
I've had my 404 for a while now, but I got it fairly cheap off ebay so I was half-suspecting it wouldn't hold up too long.
Anyway, it worked fine until yesterday and now it refuses to start up with a CF card inserted. It has the "SP-404" scroll across but freezes dead with the "404" still on ...
