We will never know for sure but it seems like mostly vinyl chops from a lot of late 70's-80's and probably even early 90's r&b and soul music eq'd or isolated to the way his ear desires. Also usually a lot of compression at the end for the ducking or side chaining effect. A lot music during that era ...

This is incredible stuff man! Reminds me of Teebs and Shigeto in a way, but don't get me wrong this is definitely some original shit. I can really feel the emotion in it and the fullness and depth of the sound is amazing! Inspiring stuff man.
