I use midi with my 303. Using pattern select I can sync up my roland 1824 to be a master and slave my 303 and track out so I can mix here and there.

personally, with the 303:
I take a kick sample and use the delay efx with the rate of quantize I would like. ex. 1/8 ,1/16.
I think I put knob 2 is at zero and knob 3 at 100% ~ I THINK.
