i think it is impossible to sample while the sequencer runs. i got a mpc2000 (classic not xl) and it can't sample anything when it's playing a sequence. i think is the same on the xl

the sp-404 got midi in. you need a midi out on your audio interface to connect midi out (interface) to midi in (404) with a midi cable

the 202 got time-stretch.
and
yes, the 303 pitch is almost useless, it also cuts some high frequencies of the original sound, i don't know why.

the fx chain was:
monotron > rc-20xl > delay pedal > sp-303 (mic in)
sp-202 > sp-303 (rca l-r in)

like dan said, on the 202 you got to set the pad to gate. i love the 202. i got so many crazy sounds with the filters and ring-mod. crazy sampler. i love it

hi sp family, this is a little bet tape i made the other day. some 202 (thru various guitar fx: overdrive, fuzz, whawha, chorus, enhancer), and 303. mixed with an analog mixer lem compact 210 s with analog delay and chorus.

already own the 404 but hate the fact i can't play a loop and record a synth on top of it. you know what i mean? but with the 202 you can play a pad on loop and record a synth directly into the 202, correct?
