i like "head nod beats" cuz thats how i kind of look at this style. Its not really for dancing or moving your body too much more like just for nodding that head snappin that neck naw meeee??? not to say people dont dance to it but its got that head nod inducing feel.

lets keep it 100 though. I dont mind peeps tryna label sub-genres as long as its intention is to organize, not to sound like their "in the know" or pretentious.

Sometimes ill already know the part i want to sample so when i get the track i already know what to record.

maw fuckaz got innovative with the biting as well. I know ive heard so called "remixes" of EDM tracks that were nothing more than someone taking the original and layering some movie quote over the top.

so im thinking bout copping a cheap synth. dont want it for any kind of crazy sound tweaking for alien sounds or anything. I just want it for playing low/deep basslines along with beats. (the sine wave kind)

any cheap basic synths out there you can recommend?

when you guys do that ducking trick where the bass or kick plays and the sample "ducks out" do you generally do it by compressing the entire track or do you just compress say only the kick and the sample you want dropping out?
