Re: KORG MICROSAMPLER TRICKS AND TIPS

-My latest is making use of the faders on a peavey PC1600 (that I was lucky enough to inherit) to control individual sample volume, using sysex. This has completely opened things up for me in terms of being able to "mix" using loops for a sprawling live set (not that I get asked to play gigs but ...

Re: Master sequencer for SP, drum machine, synth(s)

Thanks Om! I looked for a QY70 but yesterday I ended up with QY100 which I got pretty cheap.

It's bigger than the 70 by an inch or so because of the guitar/line/mic input. At first I thought ...

Master sequencer for SP... + QY100 review (sorta)

I have an SP-303 but would also like to run some synths in sync with it. I've been thinking about Yamaha QY70 or Dr-202.... what do you think? Maybe something else? Budget is around the price of these units.

I've watched videos of Dr-202 and read the manual and by that alone I haven't got any real ...

Sample speed change during playback

Hey everybody. I've been wondering for a while if there's any samplers or some other devices that could play back samples and there would be a way to control playback speed. And now I don't mean sample stretch but real slowing or speeding up with pitch change and all. The pitch change on my 404sx ...

Re: Anybody using an iPod Touch or iPad for music?

There's a topic somewhere about SampleWiz.

Just bought a used iPod Touch just for this software. The granular mode looks like tons of fun. Gonna stick it to the input of 404 and use it for adding noise to my band's live performance.

Re: Before I buy. Are there any known common 404sx problems?

Hardware-wise, I've never had problems of any kind. I've never heard about anyone else having any problems like that either. The machine is very solid and gig-proof as far as samplers go. Pots and buttons seem and feel a lot more durable than those of MPC's. I guess the need of external power is the ...

Re: Multitrackers and 404's

Oh for f*cks sake

I guess it was too obvious. Got my 404 just a few weeks ago and haven't tried recording out of it yet. Thanks so much and sorryyy for the stupid topic.

Multitrackers and 404's

Since some people here have 8-tracks and SP-404's and such, I'm curious about how the multitrack thing goes along with beats made with a machine that only has one stereo channel output, kicks, snares, samples, all. There's isn't really a track mute in 404 so I expect you guys "mix" the levels in 404 ...

Bpm sync in pattern mode... can it be turned off?

It's a nice feature... for a dance music artist maybe?

Can it be turned off so I can play a pattern after another but without the bpm sync? Just bought the 404SX and I'm still curious if I'll end up doing songs the resample way or if I'll have any use at all for the pattern mode.

I guess I'm ...

Re: Sample loading

This has probably been asked thousand times but I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I'll ask it here... When you've done a pattern, is it possible to edit it later? More important: is it possible to change the volume of an individual sample?

I'ma get my hands on a 404 this week. Looking ...

Re: Sample loading

no internal memory on the sx?
Edited my answer:
I've been trying to find this shit out with Google and as far as I can understand it seems that this is the case. Roland's specifications on the SX don't mention internal memory at all and another thing, if you want to factory reset the SP and have ...

Re: Sample loading

That answered just about everything. Thank you very much, man. Much appreciated.

Although it seems that 404SX doesn't have that internal memory... but that shouldn't be a problem either. Just a new thing to get used to.
