I have done sets like that before, its a great idea. I would use my SP in a DJ set one of two ways:

1. In a vinyl set up, have two turntables on channel 1 and 2 of my DJ mixer and the SP on the AUX input. I have sound bites and a couple extra tracks to throw on just in case when i grab a new record ...

Solid method, I do the same on my 303 and 404. On my 555, I usually use the looper instead. Just easier to build up the loops and then export them to a pad.

Technics --> Vestax --> SP202 --> MPC

Going to Japan for the first time next month. Will be mostly in Tokyo, Shibuya specifically.

Nope. You need a DJ mixer with a ground terminal or a PHONO PREAMP.
A preamp will cost $30-50 for an entry level unit, so thats the cheapest option. I use a Numark X6 DJ mixer into my SP-555.

Nice work. Sample and drums sound good. Practice perfecting the sample Start/End feature. You can tighten up the loops and the drums by ear.

Are you using just the USB port to act as a midi controller for Ableton? Or do you use a midi-to-USB adapter? Hopefully just a USB, I have a ton of those.
