Re: ROLAND SP 606 Buttons don't work or respond.

We are encountering the same problem with our 606. Especially the transport buttons that are most frequently used are affected. Has anybody by now disassembled the unit and had a look inside? What kind of buttons are those and how are they replaced? Can I get replacement buttons anywhere?

Any ...

Re: Serious midi clock timing issues

Dear korakios,

GREAT! Thanks a lot, it worked.
I upgraded the system to the newest firmware and now the timing’s tight.
First I tried the USB connection instead of Midi but couldn’t spot any difference in terms of timing (although I didn’t measure anything).
Afterwards I updated the system (the ...

Serious midi clock timing issues

Dear friends,

Our quite new ebay acquired 606 seems to have some serious midi clock timing issues.
I’m trying to sync it either way to our computer based sequencer as a click machine (as already mentioned here http://sp-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9727). I placed some short samples in the build ...

Re: Individual Outs - Assign single pads to S/PDIF ?

I just bought and wire the Octapad - the drummer plays it.
From what I can see and hear it does quite a good job - although there are some things I’m missing. First of all, you can only assign note numbers up to #99 to each pad (the pianist is using a 404sx and our first idea was to hook that one ...

Re: Individual Outs - Assign single pads to S/PDIF ?

Thanks for your swift reply. Actually we are doing too much midi routing in our band. So I was trying to scale down our live equipment by looking for nifty way to save at least one machine (for the click) and one midi thru box (unfortunately Roland decided to set the midi thru jack aside at the 606 ...

Individual Outs - Assign single pads to S/PDIF ?

Dear SP-606 Users,

I’m looking for a way to assign pads/samples individually to either digital or anaolg outputs, so we can route “click samples” to our drummer’s mixer (analog) and the main sound to a pa (digital,or other way round). As far as I understand the signal flow diagram it is not ...

Re: Need P606 - Get it at roland's ftp site

Dear p606-seekers,

indeed, the p606 is free as it only runs if the big sp-606 dongle is attached. You can download it from the british roland ftp-site, at the moment the exact location is as follows:

If you dropped by later, just try browsing ftp.roland.co.uk as the download site changes from ...
