I been opting for the BPM looper lately. When using it in pattern mode, it works different than when just hitting the samples, and sometimes it ...

Re: Time for a new toy...?
"IMO...the ROM card it comes with is kind of lacking; I know its hip hop oriented but its like a weak mid 90s british interpretation."
That's what I was afraid of. I listened to some clips of its stock sounds and didn't like them. And it doesn't seem like I could connect my 404 to it (no inputs) so ...

Re: Time for a new toy...?
Thanks guys. They look real badass. I'll admit I have no idea how to use a "synth" that doesn't look like a synth (no keys...?), but I'm sure I can figure it out.
If I can find one used for $300 max, that's what I want. Am I right though that it cannot sample? doesn't really matter with my 404 ...

Time for a new toy...?
Whatup fam,
I've been working with a 404sx only for over a year, and I'm starting to get frustrated with the limitations. I need more voices than the 12 polyphony.
Anyway, I was looking at some drum machines so I could just send in drum beats to the 404 as one sample. Been looking at the Akai XR20 ...

Re: polyphony max out mute
For this particular track, I'm using pattern mode. I have a drum beat that uses 3-4 samples (drum hits), a bass line with up to 3-4 samples at once (each sample an individual bass note), and a synth track with up to 4 samples (chords). So this maxes out if I want to add anything else. So I put my ...

polyphony max out mute
I'm strugglin with the max 12 polyphony... need more voices. Anyway I tried to free space in pattern mode by turning my drum pattern into just one sample instead of the 3-4 individual hits. But now when I use it in pattern mode, its the first voice to get muted out at 12 polyphony. How can i change ...

Surprised no one has mentioend this but...
Amoeba Records in San Fran is huge and has a great selection. Also, Aquarius Records in San Fran, smaller, but still nice. Go to both of them!
If you're in New Jersey at all, come to Princeton Records (central Jersey not far from Trenton). Great record ...

Re: Some music theory for the geeks
I took one music theory class years ago. I see why Dmin and Fmaj are related- they are the same chord- but how are Amin and Gmin related as well? Thanks
