I think that is the best way to work around it . Editing your cust and loops and then importing the files. Huph's suggestion worked just as well also by 2x the BPM.

What I have done to create some mash up vibes is sample a beat, looped it perfectly and thes making my cuts on the turntable vibing ...

waz up man. Have you ever recorded samples ie loops from records and combined them into a pattern on the sp 404

"It could be that your loops are a little off of a whole number BPM, if that makes sense. Your BPM may be 86 1/2 BPM, but you can fix that by setting the Pattern to 173 BPM (86.5 x2) and adjusting your quantization accordingly"

Once again thanks for the response everyone much appreciated.

i will try and give it a go. I basically got some old african drumming records from my dad. So I have recorded some of the loops, and now I am trying to layer other samples on top of that to record a pattern.
Kind of like a "mash up CD ...

Thanks man. I tried that, but its kinda getting frustrating. each loop is either a bit long or short, so it can't gel together. If i was on 2 decks it would be a breeze. Technology hey.....lol

When creating a pattern using multiple samples, do I have to ensure all the BPM matches
before recording, or does the sp 404 automatically adjusts the beats.
