You should read the manual to get the most from your sp.

But, if you want to add an effect to a sample, get out of pattern mode, and play the sample pad that you want to add an effect to, and then hit the effect button for the effect you want to apply.

on the sx, yes. you just hit the function button and hit pad 1 (copy) then pick the pattern to copy, then pick the pad to copy it to, then hit record.

on the regular 404, there is a lot more to it than that. I don't know the specifics.

are you in pattern edit mode? in other words, is the pattern button lit up?

When I want to record a pattern, should I just set the bpm to the same bpm of any loops I have going?

I guess I generally like a loop and then ill add drums and cymbals on top of that.

If I want to use a bunch of samples I have stored on my computer, I assume the wave converter software is the fastest way to go. I haven't tried it yet, so it might be a nightmare.

I have two 32GB SDHC cards that I got in the mail today. One is a legit Transcend (Premium) Class 6. The other is a potentially sketchy Kingston 32GB Class 6.

Ok, I tried it without the loop and it worked pretty well.

Let me ask this, if I record a pattern, while it is still recording, can I change the quantization settings?
