Re: KP3 and Roland SP-555

Hi Forum,
I've been thinking about getting my hands on a Korg Kaoss Pad, particularly the KP3. However, now I am not so sure when I've learned that it only has 4 sample banks. My dream would be two SP-555's however I don't have the funds to afford that. Does anyone currently use the Kaoss pad with ...

Re: Gap of silence when capturing a loop. Is there any fix?

how much you want?

:) I'm not in US, I'm in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, so the shipping cost will make a little sense in buying it.

I'll be selling it for around $650 assuming that the new one costs $1000 here.

You guys have the cheapest prices in US :)

Re: Gap of silence when capturing a loop. Is there any fix?

Here's the answer I've got from Roland tech support

If you TRUNCATE your sample you should be able to get rid of the silence before and after your sample.

So basically they confirm that there is a silence, and the way the whole thing works is a dirty hack.

Unfortuanately, after manual ...

if so, i've encountered a similar problem but was able to correct it.

Yes, I tried both footswitch and manual methods.

What was your solution? I need it desperately, otherwise, I'll just have to sell my SP

Thank you

Re: Gap of silence when capturing a loop. Is there any fix?

I've found out some details on my issue that make me even more pessimistic about the device.

1. Length of loop sampled with SP-555 and length of loop, converted with wave convertor are DIFFERENT. This means that what you hear isn't what you get after converting.

2. Removing marks from the loop ...

Re: Gap of silence when capturing a loop. Is there any fix?

- Avoid Auto Start at all times;
- Use a footswitch;
- Un-mark loops after saving to pad;
- Resample.

Thank you.

I've been recording without autostart and using footswitch, so these two didn't help.

What do you mean by un-marking loops?
About resampling, isn't it a direct way to wrong loop ...

Gap of silence when capturing a loop. Is there any fix?

When capturing a loop, I have two gaps of silence both in the beginning and in the end of the loop, about 0.2 second total which basically renders loop capture feature useless. Are there any known reasons or fixes for this issue?
