Re: Reason and SP555 Midi Control
so i followed this like you said and it all works fine except everything is moved up one pad from the 555 and the 555's 1 pad plays nothing. for example, if i play the 6 pad on the 555, kongs 7 pad plays. 15 on the 555 plays 16 on the kong and 1 on the 555 plays nothing. any suggestions?

Re: using the SP-555 live
look into a keyboard amp if you want to stick with the amp setup. i have one (its actually made by roland) and all my samples come out great through it. since theyre made for keyboards theyre designed to handle a much wider range of frequencies than just a guitar or bass amp would. hope this helps.

Re: KP3 and Roland SP-555
if you would be using the kaoss pad as another sampler then i would say no. but i would still think about buying one for its effects capabilities. i think a member in the band animal collective uses one in addition to his 555 to further effect his samples but i dont know what kind of stuff youre ...

software question
is there any software out there that has an excellent pitch shift capability? ive been trying to use the 555s but the i can never get it where i want it. i figure it would be much easier to just run a sample into the computer, change it, then send it back.

Re: Bpm
ahh i see. well if you can find a 202 for cheap that would def. help do what you need. you could throw your samples on the 202, match up the bpms and throw em back on the 555. it was already mentioned that you could just do that on a software also, but rockin 2 sps is a pretty nice combo.

Re: top X tips and tricks you wish you knew earlier
ok cool. ive been reading in the manual about it and im still a little shakey on some of it. as far as importing goes, how are you actually getting the files onto the card? is it just a drag and drop kind of thing? sorry if these are redundant questions.

Re: PUTTING SAMPLES TOGETHER
something ive done to get those cool drone-y loops is find a bit in a song you like, assign it to a pad, then use the dj fx-looper with the first nob (for repeat rate) turned all the way down and just turning the third nob (to the "on" position) to loop it. it takes a little guess work/chance but ...
