I've been a bit quiet on here recently but i thought some of you guys might appreciate this:

I made this beat tape using all Soviet-era samples I got from friends in Russia, and a borrowed SP-404 (thanks Moschops!) and mixed acapellas over it all.

this is sick - all played live with no programming as far as i understand. a feat of digging and sp-skills.

seems Smudge's opinion of hip hop and music in general is based on a dipping in and out of various scenes and what sounds like a pretty mainstream diet.

for the Hip-Hop question - i tihnk it's easy to get distracted by the dominant tempo and sounds of hip-hop that you hear from mainstream sources, and even the larger underground labels playing more boom-bap type sounds.
