Re: Best Ipad/pod/phone Beat Making Apps.

Just did a gig with my iPad, triggering sampleLab with Akai lpd-8, and played Korg iMS-20 with Roland fp-4, both thru USB and camera connection kit.

I tried to use beatmaker2 at first but its to unstable for live use. SampleLab did work, and automagic mapped the Akai lpd-8 pads to the ...

Re: Thinking about buying a 606

@ Øyenstikker , dude did you even read my post or are you mad at me for something i did, your scathing response of my beat in the battle was less than helpful. Im not hating, but you seem to have something against me. Your cut and paste response from roland at me is not helpful, that was the ...

m

Virtually Limitless
Once you launch the P606 software on your Windows 2000 or XP computer, the connection between the SP-606 and P606 software is automatically made. There are no user settings that need to be hassled with. Audio and MIDI commands flow from the computer and back in real time.
A ...

Re: didnt one of you guys in here have a mc808 before the mv8800

they could do a mv-8800 LE version, just like digidesign did with their pro tools DAW. ;)

The same box, same display, no vga, no mouse, half the number of poly/seq tracks/audio tracks, and fx from the sp series ;)

Re: didnt one of you guys in here have a mc808 before the mv8800

In comparison with DAW/synth workstations, the sequencer on the 606 i way limited, but as i see it, its the other way around, its the biggest sequencer available in the sp- series.

id love for it to be on par with the mc series sequencers, even the original groovebox had 8 tracks of sequencing ...

reminds me of roadtrips with my parents, my dad insisted on having a tape deck rather than a cdplayer, cause "no one breaks into a car to steal a tapedeck" ;)

Re: A few questions about cables/stereo sound

if your music sucks in mono, it will probably suck in stereo as well ;)

at a venue, a stereo effect will only impress people who stand equally far away from the left and right speakers, thats approximatley 5% of the crowd, most of them is to drunk to appreciate stereo anyways ;)

Re: Compression!

correction: the level knob is actually just level, you could use it to gain up the sample to normal level if compressing hard, but its actually a level knob.

the compression button, if turned fully to the left, its probably compressing 1:1 ,when turned clockwise the compression increases. so does a ...

Re: Compression!

compression is basicly a way to flatten dynamics, why do you want to do it? because if you get to reduce the peak of a audiotrack by 3db, and you got 16 tracks, you will improve headroom in your mix, beeing able to play louder

in theory, you really want to compress all audio, when doing ...

Re: Problems sampling the pad synth

i pressed each pad for 2-3 seconds, then 1 second from silence to the next pad. i suggest you try hitting short notes, and maybe just a couple just to see if it works, then scale it up a bit.
