Yeah. I found out the same thing for cubase. I had to change the settings to record in 24bit.

Id like to add though that you won't really hear any difference when recording 24bit vs 16bit

Recording in 24bit can be handy when ...

Some (older) PCs have similar problem with any input in cubase. A way to fix this is to reload the audio device in cubase setup panel.

So take this fwiw, it might be a similar problem or it might have nothing to do with it.

Save the samples to banks A or B those two are saved in onboard memory. You'll have to disable the write protection if you want to erase any factory samples, though.

Ok thanks. So in live you're able to record at 24bit? Then this has to be a setup issue.

I have a question. Didn't want to start a new topic for it.

The specs say it has 24 A/D converters, yet in cubase when I select SP-555 as audio device I can record only at 16bit.

Is this a setup/cubase issue? Do ppl who use this in sonar get 24bit?
