guys, can someone quickly tell me if the backup saves the sample as well as the settings {start end, level etc} cos I dont wanna lose my stuff to test it. I want to keep sync with all my gear via midi. can I sample while the pattern sequencer is running, without stopping?

Obviously without the loop capture because I can't sync that to the pattern.

oh - if your happy with mono - just send a mono click to your drummer.

had this problem with my band. Basically - get a boss metronome that accepts system real time start/stop messages. Connect it via midi.. set up your patterns..

problem with this is manual entering of tempo for each pattern.

why not just click that big button 'fixed velocity'

while you at it - ask them to kindy fix the annoying looper going out of sync with the pattern sequencer via OS update. Kthxbai.

Because if I have 6 songs in my pattern sequencer - its a pain in the ass to manually dial them in for each song. Have you ever had to set a tempo of 165 bpm on that thing. It jumps over some numbers randomly using the knob to set the bpm. 165 is a good example.. try it out.. I have a few friends ...

I'm not sure this will work.. How would the 555 send start/stop/continue messages from the in port?

I think it can't be done. The 555 does not send system real time messages if both the midi in and out is synced. It has to be the master. That's a real shame.

Anyway - have you guys seen the octatrack? it looks amazing. It's going to squash all those annoying sp-555 limitations..

loop capture drifting..
save to pad stops audio..
no decent live sampling of loop capture..
no undo..

and now no syncing with the 404 or an other device if my clock is ...

Well.. I just want to get the clock from my master (mopho keyboard) and pass it through to my other sampler (404sx).. seems so simple but I can't have them be in time following this chain because once I have -synced up with my mopho - the sp-555 wont play ball and send clock or start stop messages ...

Hi all, in the booklet it says - "If the SP-555 is synchronized to an external MIDI device, it will not transmit timing clock or synchronization-related MIDI messages"

Im in the same situation, but I worked out how to do it by using the pattern sequencer.. you need to do the set up before hand. However I can't for the life of me get it to work if the time is being received from something external like my keyboard.. I need it to pass the clock info thru the 555

I'm sure I saw it somewhere.. transmit midi clock from the pad BPM rather than the Pattern... anyone know?
